Clear the mental clutter
It’s Spring, which means it’s time to clear the clutter.
But before you bring out the vacuum cleaner, I should tell you that I’m talking about mental clutter.
The “what should we eat for lunch?” “what do I wear to dinner?” “when is that doctor’s appointment?” clutter.
We hold so many little decisions and things to remember in our head, and it has a real impact on our ability to devote our mental energy to the big-picture creative things.
Mental clutter uses as much brain power as you let it.
Here are 5 ways you can reduce your mental clutter, so you can be more creative and productive:
Let someone dress you: I love services like Stitch Fix that choose and ship to me outfits that fit my personal style. It takes a lot of the question out of “what do I wear?” in the mornings. Another way you can reduce mental clutter around dressing is spending some time once a quarter to create seasonal capsule closets for yourself with clothes you already own.
