This week, my daughter came down with the flu.

I took her to the pediatrician when she started coughing and developed a slight fever to make sure she didn’t have RSV. Thankfully, her RSV test was negative, but her flu test was positive.

My baby girl’s fever went away after a day and a half. She was cranky, had a runny nose, and coughed for a few more days. All in all, she experienced cold-like symptoms for about 5 days.

Now, I have the flu, and I have to tell you, the flu on me is very different than the flu on my daughter.

If you want a reminder that you are no longer a kid again, get sick at the same time as your child. You’ll watch them bounce back like nothing happened as you hold yourself in pain on the bed for the next several days to come.

That’s me right now. I’m in bed. My daughter is living her best life playing downstairs.
