Trust yourself: You have the power

I want to talk to you about trust. Trust in yourself. 

The conditions of oppression that people of color have and continue to endure trick us into looking to everyone BUT our own selves for the answer. It tricks us into thinking that we WILL fail, and if we do – that it’s our fault. 

We say to ourselves – if only we marry the right person, pray to the right God, get even more education, make the right moves… then maybe just maybe we will get to the promised land of peace, freedom, and financial stability… someday.  

That promised land does not come from anywhere else but our own selves. 

It comes from having the POWER to trust in ourselves. To trust that we do have the answers, we can do what we desire, and we know what’s best for us. 

True power comes from having an unshakeable faith in yourself. 

When you trust yourself, you leap to meet your heart’s desires. Not because you are 100% sure of the outcome, but because you are sure of yourself. You are sure that you can rise to meet the occa…
