Waking Up Worthy While Dating As An Adult
Even though most of my client approach me because they feel stuck in their careers, after talking with them for a bit, I quickly realize that they feel stuck in other areas too. The most common one usually is romantic partnerships.
Some of these clients point to a post I wrote a few years ago about my own frustrations with dating. When I wrote that post, I was 38, unmarried, childless, and coming off the heels of ending a dating/situationship. For me and many of my girlfriends at the time, dating/situationships seemed to be all that was out there in the proverbial #blacklove space, and I was frustrated.
So I took to the blog and wrote about how I wanted a partner. I also wrote about how even admitting that as an educated, strong, independent, black woman felt diminishing and ungrateful. I stand firmly in the pro-women doing whatever they want with their bodies, black girls rock, the future is female, and Beyoncé says girls run the world corner of the world.
