Last week I wrote about the difference between thoughts that hold us back (limiting beliefs) and oppressive conditioning that marginalized folks accept and incorporate into their lives against their own best interest (internalized oppression). I also talked about why coaches need to distinguish between limiting beliefs and internalized oppression when helping their clients of color overcome obstacles to achieve dream goals.
But as with most things, the difference between these concepts can best be illustrated with stories.
